Mera Peak is officially the highest & easiest of Nepal's permitted trekking peaks, rises to the south of Everest and dominates the watershed between the wild and heavily wooded valleys of the Hingu and Hongu Drankas is truly a part of the Khumbu Himal.
J.O.M Roberts and Sen Tenzing first climbed it on 20th May 1953, by now the standards of the route through Mera La. This highest trekking peak boasts an absolutely stunning summit panorama that includes 5 of the world's 8000m peaks: Kangchenjunga, Makalu, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu and Everest and other many smaller mountains.
The climb itself takes the north face glacier in a steady rise to the summit ridge, which leads, in an exposed and exciting situation, to the top. After the mountain has been climbed, we return via the classic Everest route to Lukla and then fly to Kathmandu.
